About the Role

BMD Urban team delivers complex, high‑profile developments that shape cities and communities. With a strong pipeline of work across Melbourne, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major urban projects and mentor high‑performing teams.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will take end‑to‑end responsibility for the successful delivery of urban development projects across metropolitan Melbourne. You will lead project teams, manage key stakeholder relationships and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary point of contact on a major project, owning commercial and delivery outcomes
Provide hands‑on leadership and commercial oversight, reducing reliance on senior leaders at an operational level
Mentor and guide junior and recently appointed Project Managers transitioning from SPE or early PM roles
Manage and support multiple Project Managers of similar capability, building confidence and consistency across the team
Ensure strong process discipline, including accurate and consistent use of Jobpac
Maintain control of contractual obligations, cost flows and financial performance
Potentially oversee multiple projects, supported by a junior PM or SPE managing day‑to‑day delivery when required

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:

Proven Senior Project Manager with strong commercial acumen and delivery confidence
Confident leading experienced Project Managers, providing clear structure, direction and commercial oversight.
Highly process‑driven with strong systems capability (Jobpac experience essential)
Deep understanding of contracts, cost control and financial reporting
Calm, confident operator who brings clarity and control to complex project environments
Background in urban land development, civil or major infrastructure projects within a tier‑one or tier‑two contractor environment
