The Senior Platform Developer is a technical leader involved with design, development, configuration, testing and support of Deakin’s Salesforce platform. Reporting to the Digital Platforms Manager, you will provide solution designs and guide technical work being performed by project and DevOps teams. You will also lead strategic initiatives within the Digital Platforms team and Salesforce team.

 

As the Senior Platform Developer you will:

  • Define Deakin’s Salesforce platform reference architecture, principles, standards, guidelines and patterns, and contribute to Deakin’s Digital Platform strategies.
  • Use your understanding of the client to anticipate needs, tailor services, respond to feedback, improve our service offering and ensure high-quality outcomes and service standards.
  • Ensure all Salesforce related solutions and applications are appropriately integrated, designed, developed, optimised and maintained to deliver superior digital experiences and business outcomes.
  • Use accepted theory and best practices to develop and deploy solutions that implement continuous improvement strategies in your own work area.
  • Provide technical expertise to stakeholders and occasional coaching or mentoring for junior developers on the team.
  • Challenge and improve existing processes by recognising deficiencies and formulating creative and inclusive solutions.
  • Provide solutions that meet business requirements, conform to best practice standards, are fully tested and are accurately documented.

 

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Significant experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in a large enterprise hybrid ICT environment.
  • Significant development and configuration experience in the Salesforce ecosystem. Relevant certification(s) would be highly regarded.
  • Extensive development expertise across a variety of application development platforms, languages and technologies with a strong record of leading and completing projects.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience, or, a Post Graduate qualification or progression towards a postgraduate in Computer Science/Information Technology or relevant discipline.
  • People management skills and experience are not strictly necessary but will be highly regarded.
