As the Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor of Economics, you will lead major, highly productive, high-quality, research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs. You will also lead teaching teams to design and develop courses and materials which influence teaching across Economics discipline or across multiple disciplines and provide our student an excellent learning experience. The Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor will also develop and lead academic or other collaborations that enable novel teaching, research or creative activities that are recognised nationally and ensure deep impact of academic activity in the field and community. Applications are open to all fields of economics, with priority given to health economics, macroeconomics, empirical industrial organization, and climate change.
In the duty, you will:
Associate Professor
- Demonstrate sustained and expanding national and international reputation as amongst world leaders for substantial and growing body of work, recognized quality, excellence and impact with a sustained and expanding track record of timely delivery of outcomes for industry partners.
- Lead teams and succeed in funding opportunities for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities and other funding demonstrating sustained successes.
- Lead teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence teaching across discipline within the university.
- Lead review of units and courses across disciplines within the university and lead refinements. Lead and integrate industry, clinical and/or research practices to inform unit / course design across discipline in peer institutions or nationally.
- Design collaborative learning opportunities that span the discipline within the university and involve learners, teachers and the community. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive learning experiences and resources at the discipline level.
- Lead the development and significantly contribute to citizenship activities and effectiveness as champion at local and university level. Represent the university at academic, professional and civic forums.
Senior Lecturer
- Make significant contribution to seeking funding for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities and other funding demonstrating sustained efforts.
- Recruit and supervise HDR students with timely completions and production and high-quality outcomes.
- Lead unit and course teaching teams and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the faculty to develop effective unit/courses curricula and learning materials.
- Design collaborative learning opportunities at the course level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit and course material and practices.
- Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research.
- Lead the implementation of citizenship activities and effectiveness as influence/champion at local/ university level. Represent the university at academic, professional and civic forums.
To be successful, you’ll have:
Associate Professor
- PhD in Economics.
- Internationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in high quality journals.
- Success in obtaining and timely completion of competitive external research grants
- Successful engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national and international standing of the faculty.
- Evidence of original, innovative and distinguished contribution to research and research supervision.
- Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in UG and PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and supervision to doctoral level.
Senior Lecturer
- PhD in Economics.
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision.
- Nationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals, and exhibitions where relevant to the discipline.
- Positive engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline.
