As a Clinical Administrative Assistant, you will:

  • Consult with available sources to gather relevant information and seek the expertise and advice of other people as appropriate.
  • Assist in the coordination of the delivery of the Clinical Learning Program for the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Assist the Director of Clinical Studies, academic staff and students with clinical issues and the administrative requirements to obtain placements from health agencies including advice on Working with Children checks, Vaccinations and Police Record checks.
  • Assist the Manager, Clinical Experience with the daily running of the School of Nursing and Midwifery general office by providing efficient and effective administrative service to health services, students and staff.
  • Ensure that all clinical placement information is provided to staff and students in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records on university’s placement management system InPlace, and CloudDeakin.
  • Assist in an administrative capacity with the development and maintenance of effective systems of record keeping, supplying information as required by the School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Faculty of Health, accreditation bodies and Department of Health.
  • Provide administrative support for the preparation of course completion documentation, as part of the student registration process via domestic and overseas registration authorities.                                                                                                                                                                                      

To be successful, you’ll have:

Completion of an Associate Diploma level qualifications with relevant work experience or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience

  • Completion of a post-Trades Certificate or Advanced Certificate and extensive relevant and on the job training; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and deal with competing demands and deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate in multiple software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, databases, internet and email.
