After Hours Manager

Permanent Part-Time opportunity! 48-64 hours/ fortnight


About the Role

This is a key leadership position that is accountable for efficient and effective operational management of the hospital after-hours. The role supports and encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating care practices, policy compliance, processes and services. 

You will be working with and supporting other shift leaders and clinical managers in achieving excellence in care delivery. You will lead a passionate team of nurses and collaboratively work and consult with on-shift doctors to ensure the best practice and patient outcomes are achieved.


About You

Experience as a Nursing Manager or After Hours Manager is essential to this role. Current ALS qualification will be highly regarded and annual onsite training is provided. Critical care skills would also be beneficial to this role. 

Essential criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years postgraduate experience within Acute Care
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective role model in the area of clinical practice
  • Be able to coordinate and motivate a large team of clinical and non-clinical professionals
  • Extensive clinical skills and experience along with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound Computer skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Post-graduate studies in an appropriate specialty or management qualifications will be highly regarded.

Southern Highlands Private Hospital provides 74 acute medical and surgical beds, as well as an extensive range of onsite rehabilitation and palliative care services for the community and beyond to the regional and rural areas. The Hospital has 4 Operating Theatres, a Procedure Room, a Day Surgery Unit, a High Dependency Unit and a Day Oncology Unit. The hospital is located in Bowral, adjacent to the public hospital.
