The Opportunity

Ramsay is seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Finance with strong leadership skills to oversee two of our premier hospitals within the East Metro Network: Mitcham and Waverley Private Hospitals. In this pivotal role, you will drive the financial management and performance of these facilities. Supported by our off-site Finance Service Centre for transactional accounting, you’ll ensure financial accuracy and integrity across our network. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on two key sites in Victoria. Join us and lead the way to financial excellence!

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyse financial results to identify opportunities for improvements and growth.
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets and business plans.
  • Manage various non-clinical departments, including Business Office/Patient Administration, Consulting Suites, Finance, Purchasing, Health Information Services, Catering, and Environmental Services.
  • Oversee the financial management and implications of Capital Expenditure.
  • Coordinate with corporate finance services on reporting and compliance.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to educate and empower managers in understanding, monitoring, and achieving KPIs.

About You

To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate substantial commercial acumen, advanced financial management expertise, and highly effective leadership skills. Additionally, you should have a proven ability to build strong, positive, and professional relationships with both remote and on-site teams.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Professional qualifications in accountancy/finance management, with a preference for CPA or CA.
  • Proven ability to analyse financial and operational data to generate value-creating insights.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with the business to enhance performance.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, strong decision-making capabilities, and clear, concise communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extensive experience with large accounting software packages and financial reporting models, including advanced budget preparation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and support key non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial management within the healthcare sector.
  • Skilled in financial legislation, compliance, and risk management frameworks pertinent to healthcare environments.

From pre-admission to discharge, every patient at Mitcham Private is treated with the utmost respect and dignity, ensuring a positive and supportive experience throughout their stay. Our hospital features five state-of-the-art operating theatres, equipped with the latest technology to support a wide range of surgical procedures, from minor to complex.
