Ramsay Health Care has a fantastic new opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our Technology Operations team.

This full-time role as the FinOps Engineer is responsible for optimising financial operations within Ramsay’s multi-cloud infrastructure. The role will work closely with cross-functional teams to report and implement cost optimisation strategies for Ramsay’s cloud environment, ensuring performance and scalability are maintained.  

This role will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Review and analyse cloud usage patterns and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising performance or availability
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on cost optimisation strategies and best practices
  • Implement cost reduction measures such as reserved instances, spot instances and scaling policies
  • Support labelling and tagging strategies to ensure costs are allocated to appropriate services
  • Support the implementation and administration of FinOps tooling such as Cloudability or CloudHealth

 

Your Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform
  • Proficiency with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform cost management tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud services and pricing structures
  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell) and automation tools
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified FinOps Practitioner
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in computing
  • Previous experience working within a healthcare environment
  • Proficiency with cloud cost management tools such as Cloudability, CloudHealth or similar
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect or Google Cloud Professional – Cloud Architect
