Assistant Director of Clinical Services – Peri-Operative Services

John Flynn Private Hospital is looking for an experienced Assistant Director of Clinical Services (ADOCS). This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity.

 

  

About the Role 

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the ADCS - Perioperative will provide clinical leadership, workforce planning, operational direction, and day-to-day management of the peri-operative departments.  The departments include Theatre, Anaesthetics, PACU, Day Procedures, Cardiac Catheter Lab, CSSD, Biomedical and Patient Transport. The role will involve a strong clinical perspective combined with business responsibilities.  This role will also require an ability to lead innovation, while recognising the patient as the central focus within the private healthcare setting and the importance of data-driven outcomes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting growth, business development, and addressing the business needs identified by the Executive team and Ramsay Health Care
  • Maintaining a relentless focus on clinical excellence across the organization
  • Supervising care delivery and coordinating the activities of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes within resource constraints and compliance requirements
  • Planning and managing hospital and departmental budgets in consultation with other executive team members
  • Assessing workplace culture and implementing actions to support positive culture maintenance
  • Managing Human Resources to forecast future workforce requirements and develop and implement strategies accordingly

 

 

 About You

You excel at fostering positive working relations with key stakeholders, developing people and building high-performance teams. In addition, you will also demonstrate:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role or equivalent  
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and guide teams effectively
  • Experience in strategic planning, reporting, and policy development
  • Familiarity with quality and risk management frameworks, as well as clinical governance principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to handle complex operational challenges in a dynamic environment

  

 

About the Hospital

John Flynn Private Hospital is a 357 bed, acute care hospital located at Tugun, which is on the southern end of the Gold Coast, within 5 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport. The hospital provides services to the population of the Gold Coast and the Tweed Coast extending into the NSW Northern Rivers area.

John Flynn provides a wide range of health care services with a 24 hour emergency department, comprehensive cardiac services, general and orthopaedic surgery, including robotics, cancer services, medical, maternity and paediatrics, renal dialysis, day surgery and rehabilitation services.

Requirements
