About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Health Information Officer to join our team on a casual basis. Reporting to the Health Information Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile medical records for discharged patients.
- Retrieve and prepare records for admissions, inpatients, quality audits, and clinical needs.
- Respond to internal and external information requests in line with privacy policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data security at all times.
- Follow up on outstanding documentation (e.g., discharge summaries, pathology reports).
- Monitor and maintain clinical forms, registers, and archives.
- Scan and file documentation efficiently.
- Assist with documentation audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Experience in medical records or healthcare clerical roles.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
- High-level computer literacy and confidence with digital records systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
