The Opportunity
We are seeking Assistants in Nursing to join Waratah Ward working as part of our nursing team. This role would be well suited to a qualified AIN or a 2nd Year Registered Nursing Undergraduate student with an interest in the rehabilitation, medical or surgical nursing specialties. You will collaborate with the NUM and Nursing Team Leader to deliver care to patients. This is a ward-based role, providing care for a varied patient cohort including medical, surgical, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the AIN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and provide the highest quality of care to all patients. There is also the potential opportunity to work in other clinical areas of the hospital such as our Day Surgery unit.
Skills and Experience
To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate a collaborative and enthusiastic team spirit, showcasing excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
To be successful you will also possess:
- Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or be currently enrolled as a 2nd or 3rd year Registered Nursing student.
- Availability to work a flexible roster covering all shifts across 7 days of the week.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively according to directions
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of customer service and excellent time management skills
- Understanding of infection control principles
