The Opportunity
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Surgical Ward team on a permanent part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to provide specialised, high-quality care within a supportive and collaborative environment.

In this role, you will be part of our highly skilled neurosurgical and surgical nursing team, committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and a positive patient experience.

 

What You will Be Doing
As a valued member of our surgical team, you will:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in a post-operative surgical setting.
  • Monitor, assess, and support patients throughout their recovery, responding effectively to clinical changes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and team-focused workplace culture.

Your Skills and Experience
You are motivated by the challenge and reward of providing exceptional private healthcare and are committed to evidence-based practice. You bring strong clinical skills, sound judgement, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience in acute care.
  • Previous surgical experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and varied environment.
  • Experience in endoscopy or surgical units will be highly regarded.

 

Remuneration: On offer is base rate ranging from $41.89 - $54.01+ superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD RN/Midwife Level 1 gr2-gr8).

About the Hospital

Cairns Private Hospital in tropical far north Queensland is an acute care facility offering a range of services including medical, general surgical, orthopaedic and cardiac services. This hospital is also equipped with The da Vinci surgical system, allowing surgeons to operate high-tech instrumentation with greater dexterity and precision than other minimally invasive techniques.

 

Requirements

  • Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • According to the role, Ramsay may require a proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
