We're seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to become part of our established pharmacy team at Ramsay Pharmacy - Westmead Private Hospital. This permanent position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patient care while working alongside healthcare professionals in a supportive hospital environment.

About the Opportunity

As the Clinical Pharmacist at Westmead Private Hospital, you will provide specialised medication management in the dispensary, prepare medications to be delivered to wards, manage routine dispensary duties as well as clinical services to hospital wards.

Being a hybrid site, we also have a retail end where we offer clinical services as community pharmacy which includes vaccination and electronic scripts. 

You'll work in a well-equipped hybrid hospital pharmacy where your expertise will directly contribute to positive patient outcomes and quality healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for in-patients and discharges, counselling hospital and community patients about their medications
• Daily pharmacy operations and help with dispensary stock management
• Provide vaccinations on retail end, dispense outpatient scrips and electronic prescriptions
• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and medication reviews
• Collaborate with medical teams to optimise patient treatment plans
• Conduct medication reconciliation and discharge planning
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards
• Mentor pharmacy students and junior staff members
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent qualification
• Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
• Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy preferred but not necessary
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• Vaccination accredited pharmacist preferred
