Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a key role in shaping the hospital’s financial strategy, driving performance, and supporting future growth. While transactional accounting is managed through our offsite Finance Service Centre, you will retain full accountability for the integrity, accuracy, and quality of financial reporting and insights—making this a highly visible and impactful leadership role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the delivery, analysis, and interpretation of financial results, identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
  • Develop and oversee annual budgets and business plans, ensuring strong alignment with hospital strategy and organisational priorities.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across key non-clinical functions, including Front Office/Patient Administration, Private Practice, Finance, Supply, and Health Information Services.
  • Oversee the planning, evaluation, and governance of capital expenditure, ensuring robust investment decisions and compliance with approved frameworks.
  • Work in close partnership with Corporate Finance to ensure accurate reporting, adherence to financial standards, and alignment with Ramsay policies.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to build financial capability, enabling managers to understand, monitor, and achieve their KPIs and financial objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong commercial acumen, deep expertise in financial management, and proven leadership capability. You will be able to build trusted, collaborative relationships across both on-site and remote teams, and confidently influence and partner with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or CA membership.
  • Strong financial and operational analysis capability, with a proven ability to translate data into clear, value-driving insights.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with operational leaders to improve performance and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • High attention to detail, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to communicate complex information with clarity and confidence.
  • Experience working with large-scale finance systems and sophisticated budgeting, forecasting, and reporting models.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to support and influence non-financial stakeholders in a “no surprises” environment.
