Hospital Receptionist
Multiple Permanent Part-Time & Casual Opportunities exist across various administration areas of the hospital.
About the Role
Pindara Private Hospital is seeking flexible, highly organised and enthusiastic individuals to join our General Office Departments; Front Reception, Ward Reception and Accident & Emergency. The successful applicants will be contracted on either a part-time or casual basis, covering a 24/7 rotating roster across multiple departments. We are encouraging applicants with significant clerical experience to apply for this position.
As a member of our busy and fast-paced administrative departments, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive customer focused service to all areas of the Administration teams and be responsible for the duties within the various departments; undertaking identified tasks and duties as part of a team that works cooperatively, sharing roles and responsibilities to meet the needs of the customer.
Duties may include;
• Being flexible to adapt to the needs of the business and help in other areas should they require; for example, attending to the Front Reception/Emergency reception areas or help with Patient Services related queries
• Welcoming and guiding visitors, handling email inquiries and a busy switchboard.
• Admitting elective & emergency patients and processing ambulance arrivals.
• Proficiently handling cash and EFTPOS transactions and providing informed financial consent information.
• Processing patient billing and liaising with third parties such as Medicare, DVA and Workcover.
• Confirming health fund coverage, completing self-funding quotes, and liaising with doctor’s rooms in relation to upcoming elective surgeries.
• Coordinating with a large and friendly clinical staff team to ensure a smooth patience experience.
• Precise data entry using multiple computer systems to ensure patient information is updated accurately.
• Scanning & compiling patient documentation.
• Provide administrative support to relevant departments.
In this role, you will report to the Front Office Manager and Front Office Coordinators and work closely with a supportive and respected team.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, a result of your strong customer service skills. Your proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required will also assist you in this role as you will often find yourself ‘thinking on your feet’ to ensure that daily tasks are met in an ever-changing environment.
You will also bring;
• Certificate in Medical Terminology – desired
• Previous experience in hospital mainframe systems – desired
• Previous Hospital, Medical Reception or Health fund experience - desired
• Computer literacy and precise data entry, including competent keyboard and Microsoft Office skills
• The ability to work across multiple computer systems in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised
• Ability to complete tasks within designated time frame
• Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster is essential (including overnight shifts when in ED)
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, with great multitasking capabilities and provide a high level of customer service whilst having a primary focus on patient care despite the busy environment.

Requirements
• Provide or complete a National Police Check (conducted within the last 12 months)
• According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
