The Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences seeks a multitalented individual to fill the role of an Agricultural Specialist (two positions available). Responsibilities would include but not be limited to operate and maintain sophisticated agricultural equipment with a very proficient level of skill and maintains a highly accurate, ongoing log of production and plot data and other information, assist with corn and hay production, fence construction, machinery and equipment repairs, building maintenance and repairs, grounds upkeep, handling and working with multiple species of livestock.
B.S. in Agriculture or equivalent level of education and applicable experience; Agricultural research and/or agricultural production experience; Experience with operation and maintenance of a variety of agricultural equipment, as well as pesticide spraying equipment, chainsaws and other power tools; Skilled in operation and repair of agricultural tractors and machinery; welding, use of tools, and any of the following: plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and masonry; Experience with agricultural fence construction and maintenance; Experience hauling livestock and farm or other equipment; Must have a valid CDL with any required endorsements within six (6) months of employment; Must have Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) for swine within six (6) months of employment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent; Must be able to work with farm management in a multilayered production setting.
Valid CDL with any required endorsements; pesticide spraying license, within 2 years.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as documentation of COVID-19 vaccination or receive approval from the university for a vaccination exemption due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
