Serves as the Director of Operations for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities include department budget preparation, forecasting and tracking of all major departmental financial and personnel resources; supervision of departmental staff; development of department financial and personnel management policies and procedures; and serving as the department financial and personnel liaison with the College of Engineering, Office of Sponsored Programs and University administration.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, management, human resources or a related field; significant experience in progressively responsible financial positions; knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles; ability to prepare and analyze financial and budgetary reports; knowledge of university financial and human resource policies and procedures and demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and communicate policies and procedures effectively to diverse constituents; and strong organizational, analytical, synthesis, communication, and leadership skills. Must demonstrate high proficiency with use of standard office computer equipment and software applications including accounting, payroll, and personnel database management systems; spreadsheets; calendaring software; and web browsers.
Previous experience applying financial and human resources practices for a large multifunction organization demonstrating the ability to function as a proactive partner with management; knowledge of Banner Finance and HRIS; financial and human resource data warehouse experience; experience with PageUp; experience in database development activity, and advanced spreadsheet and word processing skills are preferred qualifications. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
