The VCE Publications Assistant supports the Virginia Cooperative Extension Publication team members as primary point of contact for the VCE internal storefront and distributes dynamic and accessible publications and other resources. Under the direction of the VCE Publication Manager, the Publications Assistant is responsible for maintaining and promoting the VCE Storefront, configuring site data, serving as the point of contact for internal and external customers, and Office Depot representatives; managing site notifications, providing technical support, preparing reports; managing resources on the site; providing customer service; managing site users, providing site training, and other tasks as needed. Additional duties include posting publications to the VCE Website, the VCE Storefront, and the Library of Virginia publications depository; implementing the permanent link process, reviewing and editing standard nonpeer-reviewed for accessibility; reviewing and editing video captions in YouTube and Kaltura; assisting with data management; as well as fiscal duties including purchasing and payments; and general office tasks as needed.
High attention to detail, ability to work independently, with a commitment to quality customer service. Experience working with Content Management Systems and websites. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to manage complex spreadsheets, and be extremely organized. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Experience working with e-commerce websites. Knowledge of digital accessibility requirements and the ability to create accessible digital content. Knowledge of Virginia Tech fiscal processes and software, including HokieMart and Chrome River.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
Must have a driver's license check with an acceptable and safe driving record.
