Virginia Tech is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The Dance Coach / Spirit Program reports to the Head Spirit Coach. The Dance Coach will assist the Head Spirit Coach in coordinating all aspects of the Virginia Tech HighTechs. This includes student athlete development, organizing and leading practices and workouts, choreography, coaching technique, and cleaning routines for game day and nationals performances.

Required Qualifications

Dance and/or spirit coaching experience.
Collegiate dance team experience.
Good communication skills.
Organizational, time management, and relationship building skills.
Independent decision making and ability to exercise good judgement.
Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks and meeting deadlines.
Commitment to diversity.
Ability to work non-traditional work hours due to events, practices, game days, etc..
Background of teaching different areas of dance (pom, jazz, hip hop, contemporary).

Preferred Qualifications

D1 College Dance/Coaching Experience.
Experience with UDA and a thorough understanding of the expectations, processes, & methods of success in this competitive atmosphere.
