Mater Health is looking for an experienced General Manager to join Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton. This is a permanent, full-time role based at our Rockhampton City campus. 

Salary: Commensurate with experience plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits!  

What you’ll be doing

You will be accountable for delivering safe, high-quality care and meeting clinical performance indicators. You will also be responsible for the following:

  • A demonstrated commitment to values-based leadership
  • A proven record of driving organisational change and growth
  • Hands on, positive, solutions based leadership
  • An operational knowledge of the Private Health system both state wide and nationally
  • Excellent relationship building credentials with key customers and community
  • Responsibility for leading and driving strategic plans and clinical service plans.
  • Responsible for overall operational performance, including leadership and management.
  • Ensures transparency and compliance with governance frameworks and policies.
  • Maintain operational requirements and key performance indicators set by governing bodies.
  • Analyse business and operational data to inform decisions and improve processes.
  • Prioritise patient and staff outcomes while improving financial performance.
  • Manage budget, resources, and reports on performance and risk.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies.
  • Ensure staff wellbeing, development, and retention.
  • Manage individual and team performance and applies code of conduct and standards.

About you

You will have tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in business, finance, healthcare management or human behaviour discipline and meet the below criteria:

  • Clinical qualifications and experience leading in a clinical context is highly desirable
  • Significant experience in leading private acute hospitals
  • Deep understanding of Mater’s identity and a strong commitment to lead and role model the Mater Mission, Vision and Values
