Job Summary/Basic Functions The EKU Department of American Sign Language and Interpreter Education seeks a 9-month, full-time ASL Specialist (non-tenure track) faculty member. Primary responsibilities for the position include serving on the interpreter outreach team and teaching undergraduate level American Sign Language (ASL), Deaf studies, and/or interpretation courses. Faculty members will teach primarily using face-to-face. Online synchronous or asynchronous formats may also be used from time to time. |
Minimum Qualifications Education: BA/BS with 18-hours toward an advanced degree in the field or related field and measurable satisfactory annual academic progress (9 or more credits per year) toward completion of Master’s within 5 years of hire. Experience: - Native or near-native fluency in American Sign Language Licensure & Certifications: RID (CSC, CDI, CI, CT, NAD IV, NAD V, NIC, CASLI), BEI Advanced, and/or ASLTA certification |
