Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Residence Hall Coordinators serve as vital contributors to the administration and management of a comprehensive housing program with primary duties situated in one residence hall of 120 – 600 residents, some of which house living learning communities. Supervise student workers and direct daily operations to ensure a positive, healthy and safe living/learning environment which supports the campus educational atmosphere. Residence Hall Coordinators are required to live in their assigned hall.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Master's preferred in Higher Education, Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field.

Experience: One year of successful residence life experience and an in-depth knowledge of theories and practices within the field of college student personnel, student affairs, and/or housing and residence life, or related experience required.

Job Duties:

  • 50% - Provide administration and management to a university residence hall which includes but is not limited to overseeing day-to-day building operations, planning and supervising front desk coverage, recruiting and training student employees. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Provide programming, advising, budgetary, and academic support to enhance the building community. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provide crisis management for students and facilities operations including providing on-call coverage for university residence halls on a rotating basis. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Manage the disciplinary processes and address student conduct issues in the residence hall. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Supports the University, divisional, and departmental mission by completing all other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
