Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Student Assistant in the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at EKU plays an essential role in shaping a welcoming, informative, and impactful experience for both prospective and current students, their families, and campus guests. As representatives of the CHS community, the Student Assistants helps communicate key information about our programs, share their personal student experiences, and foster connections that support student success.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications: Must be enrolled at EKU. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Preferred Qualifications:

Th student should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with others.

Job Duties:

  • Campus Tours - Assist with guided tours for prospective students, families, and visiting school groups, highlighting CHS academic buildings, learning spaces, and student resources. - (Essential)
  • Event Participation - Attend and actively participate in on-campus events for both prospective and current students, including open houses, orientation sessions, and student engagement activities. Some events may take place on Saturdays, which could require an adjustment of work hours during the week to accommodate weekend participation. - (Essential)
  • Student Support and Outreach - (Essential)
    • Organizing and transporting promotional materials
    • Setting up, staffing, and breaking down the CHS display table at events
    • Gaining and sharing in-depth knowledge of CHS academic programs
    • Following up with prospective and current students to answer questions or provide additional resources 
  • Other duties as assigned - (Essential)
