Job Summary:

Drake University’s College of Arts and Sciences is excited to invite applications for an Administrative Support Specialist position to manage and coordinate daily operations in the Music department in the college.

Core duties include administrative support to faculty, class schedule building and classroom reservations, setting up student auditions, student recruitment and admission activities, monitoring of supplies and equipment, managing calendars, events and department facilities, maintaining databases, generating reports, maintaining websites, and other duties as assigned. Day-to-day clerical and public-facing duties will vary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree or equivalent previous work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous work experience in higher education

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Music department office management - (Essential)
  • 30% - Coordinate student auditions and recruitment activities - (Essential)
  • 15% - Schedule building and student registrations - (Essential)
  • 5% - National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) Accreditation and Annual Reporting - (Essential)
  • 5% - Maintain Websites - (Essential)
  • 5% - Perform other duties as assigned - (Essential)
