      Post graduate Research Assistant in Grand Forks

      Prof. Jake Carstens in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences seeks one (1) Post graduate Research Assistant for a recently-awarded project, investigating tropical cyclone structure and processes in global climate models. The hire will join a larger science team with graduate students in Prof. Carstens’ research group, faculty members at Penn State University, and researchers nationwide under the NOAA Model Diagnostics Task Force (MDTF). The funding is expected to continue through July 31, 2026.

      Assist with engineering design research on geothermal-powered corn drying systems funded by the North Dakota Corn Utilization Council (NDCUC). The project develops engineering designs that use Williston Basin geothermal resources to replace propane in commercial-scale corn drying systems for North Dakota corn producers.

      The Department of History and American Studies at the University of North Dakota seeks a part-time instructor to teach one US Military History course. The US Military History course will be offered in-person, on-campus in spring 2027. This position may be offered again in spring 2028, contingent upon enrollment, funding, and satisfactory performance.
