The Office of Fixed Assets and Surplus Property at James Madison University is accepting applications for a Surplus Property Coordinator. Our department strives to ensure the proper accounting and financial reporting for the acquisition, surplus, and disposition of the University’s fixed assets in compliance with university, state, and federal policies and guidelines. The Surplus Property Coordinator is responsible for coordinating surplus property activities for the university, ensuring proper accountability, meeting reporting requirements, and safeguarding of assets declared surplus. The position ensures the effective utilization of state property through redistribution and regulates disposal of surplus by determining the most effective and efficient methods. The Coordinator interprets and complies with university and state policies and procedures. The Surplus Property Coordinator supports the mission of Fixed Assets and Surplus Property by providing superior customer service to our customers within and outside of the University, as we ensure the prudent fiscal stewardship of the University’s assets.

The Campus Suicide Prevention Center of Virginia (CSPCV), a Center housed within IIHHS, is accepting applications for a part-time Service Member, Veteran, and Family (SMVF) Assistant. CSPCV’s mission is to equip Virginia’s higher education communities to address suicide risk proactively and responsively. We support campuses by promoting well-being and providing training, consultation, opportunities for collaboration, and planning for suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. The Center serves 72 institutions (15 public, 24 private and 33 community colleges/universities). Services are available at no cost and are provided through a partnership of the Virginia Department of Health and The Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS) at James Madison University. Service Member, Veteran, Family (SMVF) Assistant: CSPCV is seeking a highly motivated and organized assistant to support grant-funded initiatives supporting suicide prevention and well-being programming for students and campus personnel across Virginia who are service members, veterans and/or family members/caregivers. Funding specifically focuses on supporting some of the most at-risk sub-groups, including women veterans, those who are housing insecure, and caregivers. This is a grant funded one-year position and contingent on continued funding. This position will be for up to 16 hours/week and is anticipated to start in October 2025.

The Healthcare for the Homeless Suitcase Clinic, a healthcare initiative dedicated to improving the health of the local homeless population, is accepting applications for a part-time Clinic Nurse. The Clinic Nurse collaborates with other professionals to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health conditions as well as other client needs. The Nurse serves as an advocate who helps patients understand their health status and how to improve it as well as a liaison between patients and clinicians, staff, and community organizations to ensure that the desired client outcomes are achieved. The Clinic Nurse reports to the Program Director for the Healthcare for the Homeless Suitcase Clinic.
