At LCRA, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Engineering Technician to enhance our team! We manage one of Texas's largest and most advanced private communications networks, vital for various sectors like utilities, transit systems, flood warning management, school districts, and public safety agencies. Your key responsibilities will revolve around creating and updating layout drawings using the latest AutoCAD version. Additionally, you will manage file systems, generate print packages, and support the engineering team by maintaining databases, including our Operational Support System (OSS). On-the-job training will be provided for these systems. Success in this role hinges on your ability to work autonomously, collaborate effectively with engineers and colleagues, and communicate clearly. You will be trusted to:
- Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD Software to create drawing and schematic layouts for engineering designs. - Manage and use the file exchange tool, Meridian, to be able to upload and edit files. - Utilize our pdf editor, Bluebeam, and to be able to make mark ups and redlines on layouts in pdf form. - Ability to use Revit type tools and editor to utilize our internal Revit type software known as Connect Master. - Ability to use MS Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc..
You qualify with:
- Three or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis; drafting using computer-aided design software, performing engineering design or other relevant experience. - A degree in computer-aided design, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Driver's license if traveling independently to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.)
