At LCRA, we are seeking a driven and detail-orientated individual for our Energy Services Mechanic position! This is an opportunity to join the mechanical maintenance team at Lost Pines Power Park. Responsibilities include the upkeep, inspection and repair on all mechanical maintenance at three facilities: Lost Pines, Sim Gidion and Winchester Power Park. This position highlights the significance of expertise and hands-on experience in the field, offering continuous opportunities for skill development. You will be trusted to:
- Installs, removes, inspects, repairs, tests, adjusts, and aligns mechanical equipment, including air compressors, heat exchangers, gear reducers, valves, pumps, and fans. Dismantles and reassembles turbine generators. - Performs welding on various types of piping and/or structures as required and certified to conduct. Performs fabrication tasks such as cutting, welding, and fitting. Performs sandblasting and painting operations. Performs excavations in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Performs confined space entries as required. - Assists electrical and controls personnel in performing various tasks. - Operates handheld manual tools and power tools (e.g., rock saws and cut-off saws) in performing repair and maintenance tasks.
You qualify with:
- Four or more years of experience in maintenance and/or repair of mechanical equipment or other relevant experience. - A degree(s) in mechanical or industrial maintenance, instrumentation, controls or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. - Driver's license required for incumbents assigned to the dam & hydro function.
