Essential Job Functions: 1. Plan, develop and disseminate marketing brochures, fliers, letters, website, etc. about doctoral program for student recruitment.

2. Represent/present about doctoral program at local forums, and regional, national and international conferences and meetings.

3. Route inquiries to admissions; follow-up on request for further information.

4. Plan, organize and direct orientation sessions for new students each semester.

5. Act as academic advisor to all DrOT students until they have a dissertation committee, and track progress of all students.

6. Facilitate development of new elective courses and arrange course schedules and room arrangements each semester.

7. Provide recommendations to the Chair regarding faculty teaching assignment in program.

8. Lead doctoral faculty group in ongoing curriculum review and development.

9. Oversee formation of DrOT capstone committees.

10. Oversee development, administration and grading of comprehensive exams.

11. Facilitate residency opportunities for students.

12. Maintain up-to-date information for students on funding sources for research support, on IRB requirements, etc.

13. Work with provost to facilitate ability of DrOT students to take courses in other centers in NSU.

14. Maintain communication with students about upcoming events, courses, etc.

15. Develop and place ads for doctoral assistantships, when available.

16. Plan, develop and carry out mentoring program for doctoral teaching assistants.

17. Arrange faculty/doctoral students research symposia meetings for speakers.

18. Work with chair on arrangement of graduation for doctoral candidates.

19. Maintain alumni relations.

20. Plan, organize and run doctoral faculty meetings each semester, and a one day retreat each year.

21. Provide semester administrative reports on the doctoral program to the Chair.

22. Make needed changes and/or additions to catalog and OT Program brochure for program.

23. Review, expand, and revise as necessary:
a. Policies and procedures manual for DrOT students.
b. Guidelines for proposal, dissertation and residency.
c. Doctoral handbook.

24. Explore and pursue outside funding opportunities for the program.

25. Review viability and competitiveness of the program in the market to explore innovative program opportunities to develop.

26. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Marginal Job Functions:  
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals.

2. Ability to effectively present information to students, public groups, or professional organizations in the English language.

3. Ability to work with appropriate mathematical concepts specific to the particular discipline.

4. Ability to apply concepts to practical situation.

5. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

6. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).
Job Requirements:  
Required Certifications/Licensures: 1. Current National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and State of Florida licensure required as of date of hire.
Required Education: Doctoral Degree
Major (if required):  
Required Experience: 1. Post professional doctoral degree.

2. Minimum of five (5) years of academic experience and have a record of excellence in academic administration and teaching.

3. Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D, OTD, PsyD, Sc.D., or other related terminal degree) in appropriate area of specialization.
