NEWBORN SCREENING FOLLOW-UP (PPS 2) PHOENIX
This position is responsible for performing critical and time-sensitive follow-up and case management services for newborns and infants with abnormal screening test results to ensure that newborns with hearing loss receive early identification, diagnosis, and treatment. This includes analyzing laboratory test results, hospital hearing screening results, and diagnostic audiology results, documenting all actions in the laboratory management information system, and coordinating follow-up activities among and between physicians, hospitals, parents, and testing centers to ensure proper timely services and care. This position also provides customer services to doctors, parents, and external partners regarding newborn screening results. Other duties include participating in continuous quality improvement projects, reviewing standard operating protocol, provide assistance to Dried Blood Spot follow-up as well as education events at hospitals.

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a social service expert with experience working with crime victims. The Victim Advocate role offers direct services, support, and assistance to victims during the post-conviction phase of the criminal justice system across the state. Responsibilities include documenting services provided to victims, collecting data, and providing reports while maintaining confidentiality. The role involves accompanying victims to parole/commutation hearings and executions, assisting victims with safety planning and providing information about protective orders and how to serve them, and assisting with restitution issues. The advocate will interact with criminal justice and correctional personnel such as wardens, prosecutors, probation and parole officers, judges, and judicial staff. This position will also provide outreach and support to crime victims and survivors statewide. This is a grant-funded position (VOCA). The funding for this position expires on 09.30.2025

The ideal candidate will have professional experience navigating the Arizona legislative process and educating legislators on behalf of the Chief of Staff through continual interactions with the Governor’s office, members of the Senate and House, their staff, and other external stakeholders. Providing regular briefings to the Chief of Staff and the Executive team as you assess the political environment in terms of impact on the Agency's mission, programs, and budget is essential to successfully fulfilling the responsibilities of this role. This position testifies at legislative committee meetings, subcommittees, and interim study committees, providing the agency's stance on legislation and providing necessary background and historical information to legislators. Analyzes existing federal and state laws to determine their impact on the agency and makes recommendations for changes in state laws. Prepares and coordinates responses with agency officials to constituent requests from and on behalf of legislators and legislative staff and provides information to and facilitates interaction with agency stakeholders. Drafts legislation and amendments and arranges its introduction to the House and Senate.
