The Opportunity

The Threat Response Analyst is responsible for strengthening the organisation’s ability to detect, investigate and respond to cyber threats across its internal entities. The position designs and enhances threat detections, conducts end-to-end incident investigations, undertakes proactive threat hunting activities and contributes to the continual improvement of response processes, telemetry coverage and security practices. The Analyst provides recommendations and reports to senior management on identified threats, ongoing investigations and emerging security technologies.

Reporting Line: The position reports to the Associate Director IT (MUM) with a dotted line to the Principal Threat Response Analyst under broad direction

This role designs, builds, tests, and improves threat detection capabilities across SIEM, EDR/XDR, and SOAR platforms, while ensuring strong telemetry coverage and detection logic. It supports end-to-end cyber incident response, including triage, investigation, containment, and recovery, and undertakes proactive threat hunting informed by threat intelligence and behavioural analysis. The role collaborates with stakeholders to improve security visibility and data quality, develops automation workflows, and contributes to the enhancement of playbooks, runbooks, and SOC performance metrics. It also provides informal mentoring to Associate Analysts within a non-tiered SOC environment and operates in accordance with governance and security policies.
