The School of Health Sciences Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is responsible for implementing admission application and selection criteria, recruiting applicants, assisting them through the application process, and determining their admission status. Recruitment and admission assistance includes but is not limited to organizing and attending student recruitment events and answering phone, email and walk-in inquiries about SHS programs and the admission process. Determining admission status includes but is not limited to ensuring all qualifications and selection criteria are met and notifying applicants of their application and admission status. The Coordinator will be the first point of contact for newly admitted students as they navigate program/clinical requirements such as health and immunization, CPR verification, and criminal background checks. This position requires face to face and online meetings with prospective applicants, assistant deans, program directors and academic chairs and the School of Health Science Health Systems Coordinator. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, work independently and collaboratively. The position is in-person M-F during SHS operational hours. |
Laboratory & Simulation Coordinator

The Laboratory & Simulation Coordinator (LSC) is responsible for the coordination and efficient operations of the School of Health Sciences labs and Simulation Center. This includes but not limited to monitoring lab accounts and grants, purchasing supplies and equipment for labs and Simulation Center, maintaining records for purchasing, maintaining medical supplies and equipment inventories, maintenance and repair of equipment and ensuring clean, safe, and functioning labs. Responsibilities also include resource management, standard operational procedures, and preparation for accreditation reports and site visits. The LSC coordinates and maintains the health sciences laboratory and Simulation Centers schedules which includes responsibility for the School’s Standardized Patient program, and works collaboratively with the Laboratory Services Technicians, Simulation Technicians and Manager of Laboratory and Simulation Education. Researches, develops, updates, collaborates, and refines lab content for health science programs based on student and faculty needs and reflective of current practice standards. Serves as the first point of contact in the absence of the Manager of Laboratory and Simulation Education (MLSE). |
Coordinator, Student Conduct Program

The program coordinator is responsible for managing the daily processes within the student non academic misconduct conduct process. These responsibility includes developing reports, maintaining confidential student information, managing the student conduct database, conducting presentations, resolving allegation of non academic misconduct and corresponding with different campus constituents. The coordinator will also assist the director of student conduct with program assessment and special projects associated with campus-wide efforts or initiatives designed to enhance student retention, including eradication of achievement gaps, and completion. Where appropriate, the coordinator is expected to collaborate with other student services units on matters related to co-curricular learning. The coordinator reports to the Director of Community Standards, and is a member of the Dean of Student Development staff. |

Dental Hygiene Academic Coordinator

In collaboration with the program director, the academic coordinator oversees didactic instruction in the Dental Hygiene (DHY) program at Anne Arundel Community College (AACC), to include but not limited to quality assurance of instruction, instructional over-site of dental hygiene part-time faculty, reviewing and updating program manuals, ensuring course content is up to date for instruction, assist in clinical supervision of students in the dental clinic, and monitoring student retention and completion. The academic coordinator actively engages with students and participants in events and orientations, assists in the coordination of program surveys, program and course level assessment, and program analysis and technology integration. The academic coordinator communicates concerns about part-time faculty and/or student progress to the DHY program director. Additional duties include but not limited to, instruction in a variety of formats including classroom, lab, the AACC Dental Clinic, special topics courses, on-line instruction and coordinating and providing tutoring. The academic coordinator also assures compliance with college, program, CDC, OSHA standards, ADA guidelines, and accrediting agency standards. This is a staff position that requires an in-person presence. The academic coordinator teaches 30 - 36 FLH in the DHY curriculum per academic year, including the summer term and for reporting purposes to the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) will be identified as faculty. |
