General Information:

JMU's Facilities Management is currently hiring for an HVAC Manager. This position will manage and maintain all HVAC requirements campus wide by supervising and performing systems analysis, corrective/preventive maintenance, inspection/repairs of chillers, pumps, air handling equipment, cooling towers, piping systems and refrigeration equipment. This position will manage every aspect of avoiding any disruptions in the the everyday program needs of the University.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Managing all aspects of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration
•Evaluating and providing information to the Energy and Utilities manager on equipment replacement or rebuild
•Developing and implementing schedule for summer maintenance and assists in planning projects to endure completion in a timely manner
•Monitoring of work actions with employees and advising as needed
•Reading of specifications developed by engineering
•Monitoring of project progressions to maintain integrity and necessary coordination for timely completions
•Managing of maintenance records on equipment and maintains histories
•Communicating important information regularly and consistently
•Maintaining a method of refrigerant tracking to meet EPA standards

 

Qualifications:

•Considerable knowledge of all types of heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning
•Considerable Knowledge of troubleshooting HVAC systems both mechanically and electrically
•Knowledge of pump systems
•Considerable knowledge of setting chillers up to run as efficient as possible and meet DEQ/EPA standards
•Ability to use various instruments in troubleshooting equipment mechanically, electrically and from an efficiency prospective
•Ability to effectively communicate, give guidance and instruction to staff

Additional Considerations:
•Experience with refrigerant compliance management software
