The duty of this Administrative Specialist position is assisting our students by managing and supervising all operations of the Department of History’s Help Center, with supplemental duties as assigned of supporting the Division of Humanities’ Laboratory for Engaged & Applied Public Humanities (LEAPH). The position maintains all History Help Center equipment and resources, supervises all Help Center personnel, provides a space for tutoring, make-up exams, and proctors exams for faculty courses. This position supports the department's operations by maintaining inventory and purchasing for service awards and tenure review, completing the annual space survey, and assisting with updates to our History course primary source texts. This position assists the Chair with data analysis projects as needed and administers surveys to meet department needs. Other duties for this position include but are not limited to managing operations for the History Library and other departmental spaces and managing and ordering textbooks for faculty and graduate students.

This position is responsible for managing the administrative operations and customer related services for Student Legal Services (“SLS”). This position has the following duties: to provide legal assistant support services as needed by the director and associate director of SLS; to prepare drafts or correspondence and legal documents; to screen incoming calls to attorneys; to prepare and maintain travel vouchers, purchase orders, purchasing card and interdepartmental orders; to assist with budget preparation and monitor and maintain office supply and asset inventory; and, to prepare the Student Service Fee request in order to obtain continued funding for the office. This position also requires initial public contact; addressing requests for general and specific legal information; to maintain the office as an area committed to student services; to train and orient student employees; to create schedules and maintain timesheets for payroll; to prepare sick leave and vacation requests; to assist in court hearings; to perform notary services; and, to participate in office assessment.

This position serves as the front desk staff member in the Chemistry Department main office and responds to needs of faculty, staff, and students who are seeking assistance. The position is also responsible for carrying out many administrative functions of the Chemistry Department main office, in coordination with the Department Chair and Chairs Assistant, including student teaching evaluations, routing grade appeals, travel coordination, textbook/course material coordination, and completion of the annual departmental factbook.

Cross Functional IT Support Supervisor Denton
Be part of the Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) team.
