The Role

Suncorp Stores and Specialty Banking teams are the shopfront for our customers across the Group. We create value for our customers and staff by having Connect Conversations and meeting their needs face-to-face directly.

In this role you will support the Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers in delivering to the Customer Marketplace strategy by completing a variety of functions and administrative duties that take staff away from these conversations. The Business Support Team is responsible for completing allocated activities within the end-to-end business lending process through collaboration with the teams in Customer Marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers through the completion of a series of tasks within allocated timeframes.
  • Complete tasks for allocated files in accordance with Suncorp’s policies and procedures.
  • Complete basic financial analysis for financial reports and forecasts, providing accurate assessments.
  • Draft and assist the Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers with the completion of business customer credit submissions.
  • Meet operational efficiency and first-time right benchmarks as agreed with your leader.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting (preferable).
  • Similar experience in a banking role or sound accounting skills and the ability to adapt and learn the role with ease.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Credit skills – understanding and application of financial analysis, cash flow analysis, portfolio management, evaluation and analysis of profit projections, property valuation, security requirements and credit checking.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of Financial Services Legislation requirements.
