  • Partner with Team Leaders and Technical Specialists to develop technical career pathways growing our internal talent
  • Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne location
  • 12 month role with the possibly to be extended or made permanent

We are looking for someone ready for their next career challenge in commercial insurance. Well experienced, ideally claims but alternatively relevant legal, underwriting, recoveries or customer relations backgrounds, who now want to develop their coaching and mentoring skills, to progress their careers in technical claims management toward a senior claims portfolio manager or technical specialist, focussing on complex claims environments of Events & Natural Hazards.

You will work closely with the broader technical community to establish frameworks and practices, optimising claims outcomes for customers and enabling the growth and development of claims officers from new starters to specialist claims portfolio managers.

What you’ll do

  • Onboarding, structured and adhoc training and change delivery
  • Assist Team Leaders with capability assessment and development plans for their team members
  • Business process optimisation
  • Support Technical Specialists and technical mentoring program to uplift technical decision making
  • Evolve the quality review process to better identify and manage risks
  • Design of all relevant technical development frameworks for long term effectiveness and sustainability
  • Leverage business intelligence claims customer data and subject matter expertise to inform operational improvements and enhance customer and broker experiences.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated commercial claims experience preferably in Liability and/or Events & Natural Hazards, either in direct claims management roles or related processes such as legal, underwriting, recoveries or customer relations
  • Proven experience in achieving outcomes through mentoring and coaching others
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset
  • Passion for customers, fair and accurate decision making and a drive to help others succeed.
