Join Suncorp as a trusted Tax Analyst and play a key role in managing our Australian income and indirect tax obligations with expert technical advice and hands-on involvement.
This is a permanent full-time position based in Brisbane or Sydney, with an expected start date around August/September 2025.
What you’ll do
- Support tax compliance activities and prepare tax effect accounting and tax return calculations under guidance
- Assist with Australian corporate income tax, employment tax, and international tax matters, with a willingness to learn
- Use your curiosity and analytical skills to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements
- Help maintain accurate tax records and contribute to maintaining Suncorp’s tax risk framework
- Work closely with internal teams, external advisers, and regulators on routine tax matters
- Keep up to date with relevant tax developments and changes, with training provided
- Use and develop your skills with Excel and demonstrate good technical ability to support your work
What you’ll bring
- A degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, or a related field (mandatory)
- Some experience in a corporate or accounting environment is preferred, though strong graduates with relevant work experience will also be considered
- Between 1–3 years’ relevant work experience, including internships, placements, or professional roles (any industry experience valued)
- Strong technical ability with confidence in Excel
- Quick to learn and apply new concepts, with strong research and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams
- A team player with a positive, solutions-focused attitude and solid time management skills
