About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Delivery, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio. As the Program Lead Maintenance you will be responsible for: providing in-field oversight to multiple work groups for the delivery of civil and grass maintenance, and associated projects on Melbourne Water’s Waterways Land assets.

  • Leading, mentoring and providing professional expertise to a skilled team responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and reliable delivery of multiple civil and grass maintenance programs and projects.  
  • Front line operational direction including day-to-day activity planning for a number of work crews/ team members as well as external contractors. 
  • Ensure the delivery of works program is within the allocated budget and is optimised and continuously improved. 
  • Valid Driver’s Licence as this role requires occasional travel.
  • Help to foster a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.

About you:

  • You'll demonstrate transformational leadership behaviours, including role modelling organisational values, inspiring a shared vision and enabling and empowering team members. 
  • You'll have the confidence and experience to manage internal and external infield teams across multiple programs of work. Ensuring all internal team members have effective Performance Plans, Career Development Plans and appropriate training, skills and tools.  
  • Ability to ensure agreed outcomes are delivered through meeting deadlines, honouring commitments, whilst responding to various demands and managing multiple activities simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrated judgement, problem solving and ability to develop innovative solutions to operational and works delivery problems. 
  • Well-developed verbal and written skills using clear and appropriate language with a wide range of people within Melbourne Water, external organisations and the general public.

This full time role is primarily based from Southeast Regional Office (SERO), Bangholme.  You will be required to travel to other Melbourne Water locations and field sites within the Southeast of Greater Melbourne. You will be allocated an operational work vehicle.
