What you’ll do
Reporting to the Payroll Delivery Lead, this role is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of fortnightly payroll for our Australian workforce. You will work closely with site teams to ensure time and attendance data is accurate, complete and delivered on time, contributing to a seamless payroll experience for employees.
This is a high-volume, detail-focused role where your ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and Awards, manage competing deadlines, and resolve payroll queries will be critical.
What you’ll be doing
- Process fortnightly payroll, including off-cycle payments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Import and validate time and attendance data received from mine sites
- Review payroll reports and journals to confirm correct employee payments
- Maintain employee records in line with HR and IR requirements
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees, HR and line leaders
- Apply Enterprise Agreements, Awards and legislative requirements to payroll processing
- Support compliance activities and maintain up-to-date payroll knowledge
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiency
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Previous payroll experience (minimum 2 years), ideally in a high-volume environment
- Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Experience with payroll systems such as Oracle HRIS, Preceda or Dayforce (desirable)
- Intermediate Excel skills and strong systems capability
- High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Strong time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Mining or resources industry experience will be highly regarded.
