About North East Link

The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.

The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.

The Central Package will be delivered as a Public Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.

 

About the Opportunity

The North East Link project is looking for a Communication Manager to join our team based in Abbotsford. The primary role of the Communication Manager is to champion the delivery of communications initiatives related to Spark North East Link Project. You would develop and maintain project content strategies both internal and external by having a great writing, editing, profiling, interviewing and research for print and electronic communications. By driving and initiating continuous improvements across all digital channels to further enhance engagement.

 

This role will be accountable for:

  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to develop effective communications including media events, social and digital media, presentations and event collateral.
  • Develop and maintain communications governance guidelines on quality, style and format and ensure Spark NEL DC guidelines are adhered to.
  • Develop and implement a consistent corporate identity across all project communications, including publications, electronic communication, stationery, signage, project plans etc.
  • Oversee production and distribution of key project communications as required including fact sheets.
  • Liaise with key suppliers in areas such as printing, video, drone and photography to achieve contractual deliverables.
  • Implement ongoing program to source video footage of the project.
  • Assist with implementation of an effective internal communications strategy, including project newsletter and site communications.
  • Liaise with JV partners to provide contemporaneous and events including coordinate photographic and videography requirements.
  • Oversee the ongoing development, maintenance and use of a project photographic library.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to the SHE Cultural Framework, policies, Safety Essentials and Management System requirements and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification – Journalism/Communications with minimum 7+ years’ experience in a related field
  • Similar corporate communication environment with infrastructure experience preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with great attention to details and displayed of excellence in initiative and problem solving
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders of all levels
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in IT literacy with desktop publishing and Office Suite, including but not limited to printing, production process and usage of electronic media.
