About North East Link
The Spark Consortium has been selected for the Central Package of the North East Link Project - Victoria's biggest road project.
The Spark Consortium’s Design and Construction Contractor - which comprises Webuild, CPB Contractors, GS Engineering and Construction and China Construction Oceania - will deliver the twin three-lane tunnels and key interchanges for the project.
The Central Package will be delivered as a Public-Private Partnership and provides three-lane twin tunnels that will close the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network from the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway, reducing journey times and diverting heavy vehicles away from local roads. Up to 135,000 vehicles will use North East Link every day, reducing congestion in the north-east while maintaining local roads.
About the Opportunity
To support the delivery of the North East Link Central Package, we are seeking applications for a dynamic and motivated Senior HR Advisor or HR Advisor to join the people team. As a key member of the People team, this role will work across all areas of the project and provide advice and guidance to project leaders and deliver operational HR support. This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced and high performing people team. This role will be accountable for:
- Partner with project leadership to support and implement People & Culture strategy, workforce planning, and organisational change as it impacts employees.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, managers and supervision to support employee engagement and project goals.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, redundancies and grievance procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives that align with project objectives and Joint Venture partners.
- Drive cyclical activities including goal setting, ongoing performance conversations and reviews, professional development plans, talent and succession planning, employee engagement and annual remuneration review.
- Development of performance and rewards initiatives across the project, including promotions, remuneration changes and allowances.
- Provide guidance and advice on legislative changes and interpretation of business standards.
- Facilitate People & Culture/HR training and workshops.
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Support managers to measure performance and provide appropriate guidance to manage underperformance and misconduct.
- Track workforce planning and reporting including workforce metrics (headcount, turnover, leave, training etc.) and provide data driven insights to support best for project decisions.
About you:
- 5 -8 years of relevant experience in a Senior HR / Business Partnering role
- Tertiary qualifications in HR
- Experience within an engineering, construction or heavy industries highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience initiating and driving leading-edge HR initiatives and supporting client groups through periods of organisational change
- Strong relationship management and communication skills, including the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to interpret employment contracts, awards and enterprise agreements and knowledge of relevant legislation
- Strong service orientation and attention to detail
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in managing employee grievances and workplace investigations
- Ability to work autonomously, self-manage, manage deadlines and work in fast-paced environment
