We are after an experienced Finance Lead to join our highly respected CFO and Strategy Team, partnering with our Corporate & Support functions.

About the role:

  • Supporting the Corporate and Support areas you will manage relationships with senior leaders and their teams to provide financial analysis, insights, challenge and influence in order to drive sustainable financial performance of the business and Enterprise
  • Provide financial oversight and advice to support planning, reporting and budgeting including multi-year budget and periodic forecasts
  • Work with the business to optimise investment decisions and capital efficiency
  • Lead continuous improvement to enhance the quality and effectiveness of finance partnering services provided to key stakeholders
  • Lead, motivate & coach a small team to ensure a high-performance culture which fosters Aurizon's values, meets Aurizon's performance standards, and engages and develops people capability

About you: 

  • Tertiary qualification in a finance related discipline is mandatory
  • Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory
  • Financial literacy, modelling and analytical skills to provide highly relevant insights into business performance
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and budgetary processes and procedures, particularly in relation to financial systems and business processes for a large geographically dispersed organisation
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in similar roles leading a team of similar size
