The Opportunity
Are you passionate about molecular microbiology, bacteriology, and genetics? Join the Lyras Laboratory as a Research Officer, where you’ll contribute to groundbreaking infection research in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
As a Research Officer, you will:
- Conduct molecular microbiology, bacteriology, and genetics experiments
- Coordinate animal trials, perform tissue culture and fluorescence microscopy
- Assist in data analysis, literature reviews, and research documentation
- Liaise with international collaborators and schedule research meetings
- Develop procedures for toxin characterization and ensure a safe laboratory environment
- Support lab operations, including research administration and compliance
About You
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Expertise in molecular microbiology, bacteriology, and genetics
- Experience with bacterial cultivation, aseptic techniques, PCR, protein analysis, cloning, and immunofluorescence
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
- Willingness to work with animals (previous experience desirable)
