The Opportunity
The Principal Integration Developer is responsible for leading the planning, development and implementation of integration strategy and solutions for complex systems, applications, platforms and data sources within the University. The position leads the solutions design by working closely with various subject matter experts such as architects, product managers, analysts and other developers to ensure delivery of well-engineered solutions that meet business requirements and satisfy stakeholder needs. This position also provides technical guidance to projects and leads the development of new processes and frameworks to meet client needs and enhance the operations of the DES domain.
The Principal Integration Developer also contributes to capability development within the CIO Portfolio by providing leadership in the area of system integration development practices and standards. This also includes mentoring other integration developers and actively leading integration governance activities.
To be successful the eligible candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in designing, developing and maintaining complex integration solutions that are secure, robust, scalable and in alignment with agreed architectural principles with excellent command of programming languages commonly used in integration development
- Highly proficient with integration technologies, platforms, patterns, application programming interfaces (APIs), message queues and data transformations
- Demonstrated experience in establishing integration development standards and best practices along with a familiarity with integration architecture, enterprise architecture and information security principles
- Substantial knowledge and experience with evaluating integration tools, platforms, architecture and services and the ability to make informed recommendations and incorporating new technologies into existing ecosystems
- Strong familiarity with agile project delivery using Jira & Confluence, contributing to feature planning to ensure realistic time frames with significant experience in providing technical coaching and mentoring
- Substantial experience in developing strategic roadmaps and leading continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
