About the Role
As a valued member of our Pre-Analytical Services team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the timely diagnosis and treatment of patients by ensuring high standards in specimen collection, handling and administration. In this fast-paced and patient-focused role, you will provide compassionate and professional phlebotomy services, while managing samples to ensure they are collected, stored and transported in line with best practice and quality standards.

You will be responsible for the accurate entry of patient and testing data into laboratory systems, and for responding to internal and external enquiries with a high level of customer care. Working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, your contribution will directly impact the quality and efficiency of pathology services, making a real difference to patient outcomes each day.

About You

You are a motivated and compassionate individual with a strong focus on accuracy, teamwork and patient care. Your background in pathology or hospital settings has equipped you with the skills and experience needed to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • You bring over two years’ experience in pathology specimen collection or laboratory settings, with strong knowledge of confidentiality, infection control and WHS principles.
  • You’re a team player with excellent communication skills, providing customer service that is timely, accurate and respectful, even in busy or high-pressure situations.
  • You’re detail-oriented and reliable, with proven ability to prioritise, work independently under general direction, and consistently deliver high-quality work.
  • You have sound computer skills and are confident using Laboratory Information Systems, with an understanding of NATA requirements and a commitment to continual professional development.
