Step into a vital administrative role where your attention to detail and organisational skills make a real difference! We’re seeking a Medical Records Clerk to provide an efficient, effective, and customer-friendly medical records service, supporting the Emergency Department, Main Reception/Switchboard, and the wider organisation. This role ensures timely and accurate management of patient records, helping staff deliver high-quality care while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete patient admissions for the Renal Unit, communicating unplanned presentations to staff.
  • Provide backup support for Admissions/Emergency Department Clerks and Switchboard/Main Reception as required.
  • Maintain high standards in the Medical Records System, ensuring compliance with the State Record’s Hospital Retention and Disposal Schedule.
  • Retrieve, track, and transport medical records to authorised staff and respond to enquiries in line with information release procedures.
  • Coordinate completion of Death Certificates with funeral directors and wards, forwarding documentation to Births, Deaths, and Marriages.
  • Collaborate with the Registry Integrity Unit and Digital Health SA on EMPI activity, correcting data errors as reported.
  • Run regular data validation reports and conduct quality assurance checks, including scanning and reviewing documents in Sunrise.

Applicant Information

This is a part time (0.64 FTE) vacancy, working 48 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
