About the role

As a Clinical Trials Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting high-quality cancer research and improving care for patients participating in clinical trials. Working within a supportive and innovative environment, you will grow from a developing practitioner into a confident, proficient member of the Cancer Services Trials Unit. As you consolidate your clinical knowledge and skills, you will take accountability for your own nursing practice, uphold professional standards and contribute to safe, compassionate care for patients involved in research studies.

In this role, you will assist the RAH Cancer Services Trials Units by coordinating and managing patient study visits, conducting trial-related assessments, and collecting and entering clinical data with accuracy and care. You will ensure all procedures, documentation and interactions align with ICH GCP and NHMRC guidelines, helping maintain the integrity and safety of every trial. This is a rewarding opportunity for a motivated nurse looking to expand their skills, contribute to ground breaking research and make a meaningful difference to patient outcomes.

About You

You are a compassionate, motivated and detail-focused nurse who brings strong clinical capability, excellent communication skills and a commitment to supporting patients participating in clinical research.

  • A qualified and experienced clinician, registered (or eligible) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with at least three years’ post-registration experience and demonstrated competence in your area of nursing practice.

  • A collaborative communicator and team contributor, skilled in problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation, and confident working within multidisciplinary teams to build strong professional relationships.

  • Organised, adaptable and proactive, able to prioritise competing workloads, think creatively and remain flexible when navigating challenges in a dynamic healthcare environment, while providing patient and family-centred care.

  • Knowledgeable and committed to quality care, with an understanding of the Registered Nurse role, relevant legislation, codes and standards, and experience applying quality improvement principles within a healthcare setting.
