Based in Adelaide's northern metro region, you'll work within the NALHN Mental Health Inpatient Unit, providing comprehensive medical services to adult inpatients. Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level medical care to adult inpatients across diverse clinical presentations
- Lead clinical decision-making and coordinate multidisciplinary care teams
- Mentor junior medical staff and contribute to clinical education programmes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading, professional development allowance and superannuation.
About You
We're seeking an experienced medical practitioner who demonstrates clinical excellence and leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Medical degree with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- Fellowship or advanced training in relevant medical specialty
- Proven experience in adult inpatient care and clinical leadership
- Strong communication skills and commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork
- Dedication to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
To be eligible for appointment to this role, you must hold:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- Registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Medical Practitioner

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
Lyell McEwin Hospital – The major hospital in the north and north-east for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetrics, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health - The Division of Mental Health provides a comprehensive range of public mental health services for youth, adults and older people in northern Adelaide. Services are provided through community health centres and hospitals, and to consumers in their own homes.
Forensic Mental Health - A statewide service that operates as part of the Division of Mental Health for forensic patients and prisoners.
Community Sites - Elizabeth GP Plus, Modbury GP Plus and Gilles Plains GP Plus Super Clinics providing community based care.
