About the Role
Join a leading Upper GI service and shape high-quality, patient-centred care across complex oesophago-gastric conditions. You’ll manage diverse surgical cases, build strong clinical pathways, and support service excellence across two major hospitals, with opportunities to teach, mentor and drive research.

Duties

  • Deliver safe, best practice Upper GI and general surgery care
  • Manage complex malignant, benign and bariatric cases
  • Build and refine clinical pathways and service models
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and cross-site teams
  • Support undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
  • Mentor and supervise junior medical staff
  • Contribute to research and continuous improvement
  • Engage with referrals from GPs and external providers
  • Provide compassionate care to patients and families

About You
You’re a skilled and collaborative Upper GI surgeon ready to deliver excellent care, support others and contribute to a high-performing service.

  • Hold FRACS or equivalent specialist qualification
  • Hold AHPRA registration as a medical specialist
  • Show strong Upper GI clinical practice and judgement
  • Build links across teams, sites and referral networks
  • Contribute to teaching, research and quality improvement
