About the role

Are you looking to build a rewarding career in pharmacy within a supportive and dynamic healthcare environment? As a Pharmacy Assistant (Allied Health Assistant - AHA Levels 1 & 2), you will play a key role in providing comprehensive pharmacy services by assisting with the dispensing and distribution of medications.

This is an opportunity to work for the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network Dispensing hub based at Flinders Medical Centre in Bedford Park. The Pharmacy Assistant supports the Dispensary Pharmacist in dispensing and distribution of medications across BHFLHN, in particular to dialysis and chemotherapy units at Gawler, Mt Barker and Southern Fleurieu hospitals.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment. You will bring a combination of technical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to high-quality service. To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Skills & Attributes: A willingness to learn, strong arithmetic and written communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy setting with proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge: A strong understanding of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, pharmacy manufacturing, clinical and dispensing methods, and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
  • Technical & Physical Requirements: Good manual dexterity, data entry and keyboard skills, strong public relations skills, and the physical capability to lift, push, squat, and reach as needed.
