About the position

This position is responsible for the development, coordination and the operational delivery of activities and events that facilitate the University’s partnerships with strategic partner schools and other external stakeholders as required.

The role is the day-to-day liaison for the University’s partnership with the Ivanhoe Grammar School (IGS), and Charles La Trobe College, each of which have campuses on or near La Trobe Bundoora, as well as other programs and partnerships as directed. The position is responsible for stakeholder relationship management and maintenance, including planning, coordinating and managing required campus resources (including room and facilities bookings). The role will also liaise with academic and professional staff for the delivery of campus-based activities including event planning and scheduling, rostering/managing casual staff, and maintaining clear and open lines of communication around expectations and deliverables.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • External stakeholder relationship building and management with key staff within partner organisations.
  • Coordination of activities and events for Ivanhoe Grammar School, Charles La Trobe College, and other strategic partners as required.
  • Development of programs and events, including liaison with academic staff in the development of sessions for school students.
  • Planning and managing required campus resources for programs and events (including room and facilities bookings)
  • Event delivery, including the rostering and managing of casual staff.
  • Providing recommendations on program changes and improvements.
  • Planning program/event budgets and tracking expenditure with the support of the Senior Administration Officer (Widening Participation).

Skills and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in order to achieve stated outcomes
  • Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrated understanding of university structures; including their staffing, programs and services, and experience in leveraging this knowledge to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience in event planning and delivery in a university setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage resourcing and deliver projects within specific parameters
